for 1), I really don't understand why people bother to keep track. Technically you are just receiving what your parents gave, plus minus a bit. CNY is really not about hong baos so why make yourself sian over the amount you got? Sigh! Too many people are complaining about it over twitter and facebook which totally pisses me off cos that's just ruining the real shit about CNY and reunions. Maybe you're thinking "aiyah lame la don't talk so much, you probably got more every year so that's why you say until so nice right", but the truth is that me and my brother give *all* our red packets to my mum every year since young. Because technically it's her money what. We receive she and my dad don't need to give? Somemore still make a nett loss because she will give cleaners and those working on cny if we happen to utilize their services (i.e condo security guards, cashiers, cleaners). So besides Ya Shui Qian I don't keep red packet money. So you should be happy you get extra money without you doing any work for it. Complain somemore and you lose sight of what should really matter about CNY.
